Match your handbag with your eye colour!
It is a well known trend among women to match handbags with shoes, and more recently to match your nail colour with your outfit. In spring of 2012 the nail trend started becoming popular and by summer everyone was doing it. Not only was it popular to switch colours to match clothes and hair, but it was also trendy to have different colours or patterns on each nail. In fact, nails are the new accessory and what’s more - everyone has them! Now that a new year has started, new trends are making their way into stores and into people’s homes. The latest trend is to match your eye colour with your handbag - or why not your shoes! Imagine being able to change your green eyes to a dark blue to match your latest handbag, making both your bag and your eyes pop! Well now you can, coloured contact lenses are not very expensive and what’s even better is the fact that you can get contacts that last you for 1 year! Handbags might be a little bit more expensive, depending on your choice of course, but can you really get enough of them? That’s what we thought. Here are a few ideas as to how you can match your eyes with your handbags. Fashion Week has just been taking place in all the major fashion capitals of the world and the SS13 catwalks have revealed the biggest trends in fashion and make-up. Lucky for us, the hottest trend right now is big bold eyes! Pink in particular is the colour of the season and Donna Karan showed us how it’s done, with models wearing both pink eye shadow and pink mascara. Bright block colours (the brighter the better!) are no more only used at parties but now also for everyday. Chanel had models wearing block eye shadows in metallic hues, showing us that everyone can be glam on a daily basis. The big Italian fashion house Versace and other brands such as 3.1 Phillip Lim and Diane von Furstenberg showed us a more grungy look with smoky golden eyes together with soft to heavy black khol liner on the lower lash line. The best thing about the grungy look is that you can leave your mascara a little clumped (saving you loads of time!) and you will be right on trend! To spice up this already great make-up trend, why not try some coloured contact lenses. If you are bold enough to try Donna Karan’s crazy pink make-up, we suggest you wear a clear blue colour to make your make-up really pop. Sapphire Blue from our Blendz range will be perfect for this. If you want to try colour blocking your eye shadow, match your eye shadow with your contact lens to give an even more strong effect. Wear Pearl Grey from our Naturalz range with metallic silver colours. Violet (Illusionz), Azure Blue (Intense), Jade Green (Intense), Pacific Turquoise (Infusionz) and Yellow Oak (Infusionz) are also good for matching with the color block trend. In contrast to this extreme eye make-up trend, Alexander McQueen’s models went all nude with a velvety skin finish, free from bronzers and blushers. At Rick Owen’s catwalk, models even had bleached-out eyebrows! To us this seems too dull of a make-up trend so pair it with stand out coloured contact lenses to get some colour on your face. Try Crystal Blue from the Intense range or Lime Green from the Blendz range. Have fun with your make-up and play around with matching (or mismatching) coloured contact lenses to fit your personality! <!--[endif]-->
